Structure and Properties of Matter
Students will study the general aspects of matter, including the small particles of matter. Also, the "Law of Conservation of Matter" will be explored in regard that new matter cannot be made nor can matter be lost. Materials will be identified based on their properties. investigations will be conducted to determine if the mixing of two or more substances will result in new substances.

Students will read articles about matter, conduct experiments to identify chemical reactions, and make observations about properties of matter.   They will be exposed to science videos that present and show evidence of the "law of conservation of matter".
