Students will further their study of value through watching an online tutorial, and creating a grid drawing with the repetition of a single key in each box.
OVERVIEW Show All | Hide All | Top

Students will take prior knowledge from the lesson right before this unit and apply their skills of value in this project.  They will begin by creating a 12 box grid, then select a key (house, car, etc.) and sketch various angles of the key.  They will then "crop" the key design and fill each of the 12 boxes with a repetition of the key.  Last, they will create a value scale, from dark to light, and use this scale as they shade in the keys with varying values.

Students will be graded upon completing their art project with a scoring rubric.  They will also complete a self-critique sheet, reflecting upon their experience with this project.  This will allow them to see weak areas, and more importantly their strengths.
